New Year? I'll Play Along with the Festivities...

To be completely honest, New Year's has never had much appeal to me. We get to add 1 to whatever year number we were just in, whoop-dee-doo... Ah well, pardon my 'humbug' of this holiday, but at least this is as good a time as any to examine my resolutions of the hobby.

First off, I'm actually going to get painting done. In the past, which my friends can attest to, I've been all talk and no walk. "Just got a Land Raider, guys!" ...one year later... "Just basecoated my Land Raider, guys!" Yeah. It wasn't pretty. But now's crunch time - I'm aiming to go to Blue Table Painting's Valhalla out at the Sundance Resort in Salt Lake City in June, and I'm going to have my 2000 point lists of Blood Angels and Imperial Guard completed for it, or die trying.

The second resolution is to play more - this depends on my homework load, of course, but after spending years building and tweaking lists with the help of Stelek on YesTheTruthHurts, I figured it's time I start getting better actually putting those supposedly perfected lists to good use. (Legorreta, if you see this, you know all about my...boldness) Not to mention getting another aspect of the hobby here: Battle Reports, video ones if I can have my way, but we'll see.

Lastly is quite straightforward: consistency. Many a time I've started some major project and it's fallen through after just the first stage was completed. Not this time, I say. I'll keep posting my painting updates, battle reports, and more, and I'll do my best to keep you all entertained, informed, and content. In fact, if all goes as planned, expect a hefty painting update tomorrow before school picks up again Tuesday. :]

That's all for now, thanks for giving my blog a look, and if you start to like what you see, pass my name on to your wargaming friends!

Hitting the Ground Running

Well, it's finally here; my 40K-dedicated blog. I doubt many will look here at first, but nonetheless, I'll keep on posting. Hopefully it'll catch on, and who knows - I might be able to run with YTTH and Kirby one day...

In the meantime, I'm currently working on painting up both my (new) Imperial Guard and existing Blood Angels armies in time for June's Valhalla by Blue Table Painting, and here are some pictures to prove it:

And there you have it, for now. Hopefully I've piqued your interest, and I'll keep the posts coming. In the meantime, happy wargaming!
